Do they even have a broadcast signal? I don’t think so; I think you have to pay for Fox news as part of a cable package. So because they’re not using public airwaves, they can put their garbage on their private channel for people to buy with money they willingly hand over.

He should be jailed, right?

This asshole doesn’t care about the future of public education, he’s just pissed that his pension got dinged by the Republicans so he ran against this guy as revenge, nothing more.

Oh my god. No way. Unreal. I can’t believe it. Who could have predicted this. Wow. What a surprise. When would the Dems ever let this happen. Wow.

Well since then the NRA has drastically increased it’s rhetoric and verged far right of their earlier doctrine, which promoted safety-orientrd gun control. I’m just taking a guess!

Nobody has adequatly answered me why it is a problem now, and wasnt before the 60's.

Yes, it has. Guns are concentrated in the hands of fanatics who place a significant part of their identity in their weapons as a status symbol. That’s extremely different than the earlier norm, where guns were common but spread throughout the population. That’s no longer the case. A small fringe is driving the numbers

The second is entirely unimportant, because it isnt that subculture doing the killing.

...or increased availability in guns that didnt happen.

At least other gun people can be intellectually honest in saying “fuck other people dying, cause it’s my freedom right amurkah!!!” You can’t even readily admit that guns are the biggest common factor in gun deaths and acting like it’s some other mysterious force in play and guns aren’t a problem. It’s quite pathetic.

Same - I fixed your headline for you.

The type of gun ownership has changed significantly, as well as the subculture of the people who now hold most of the guns. I don’t really know how you can ignore those variables.

No. Before we will discuss the most common sense solution to the problem of too many shootings, the one that every developed nation, all of which don’t have the problem we have on nearly the same scale, has adopted in some form or another, you must account for all the potential sociological, political, cultural, and

calm down, cletus. no one is taking your guns.

A guy I work with talk about guns occasionally. I own a few and he owns a bunch. I asked, hypothetically, if giving up his guns would guarantee his loved ones would never be in danger of being victims of gun violence, would he give them up? I know it’s a hypothetical, but the fucker didn’t even pause before answering

“clean out your fucking desk”

Indeed. The whole reason those “burdensome regulations” exist in the first place is because capitalists proved that they couldn’t be trusted to do the right thing, ever.

Ya know, even though no one is actually trying to take these idiots’ guns away - they sure seem to continuously demonstrate good reasons why we should take their guns away.
