I wonder what the market could look like outside of motorsports.

Right!? I’m also the tech lead at a technology company. I just don’t like having my life tied to a damned screen.
Counterpoint. I don’t like using apps.
I come across these Cruise cars on a regular basis in SF, and every experience is bad. Literally, EVERY experience is bad. On foot, bicycle, motorcycle, car, truck, moving van, as a passenger while other people are driving, in Muni buses. Literally EVERY time! Even if they act normally, I’m expecting them not to, and…
Get over it. This happens literally EVERYWHERE! Cars run stop signs just as much as cyclists, and often at higher speeds. In the pecking order on the street, you watch out more for those less protected, and cars should watch out for cyclists.
Buy one! BUY ONE! Seriously, they are awesome cars.
I have mixed feelings about these camper options. They can be cumbersome, and need so many finicky pieces to work right.
1982 Euro 928S! The Euro versions came with 300HP a few years before that much power was available in the US. The original owner imported it and got it approved in California without catalytic converters, rear bumperettes, headlight changeout, and a few other items that were usually required. It passes smog without…
1972 CB450 engine rebuild. Talk about an insane number of ways for that to fail! I’ve rebuilt/restored about 30 Honda CBs now, and I’ll never touch another CB450 again.
I was looking for one of those for an endurance racer. Ultimately settled on a 1983 Porsche 944, but the ZQ8 package S10 was in the running! Sadly selling the 944 before getting a chance to track it. :(
The S10 holy grail is the standard cab ZR2 with a 5-speed! That is one amazing off-roader. I had an extended cab ZR2 and it was a blast. Routinely landed it from 2-4' of air and it was like landing on pillows! Crawled well, and handled snow and ice surprisingly well with a set of Bridgestone Dueller AT Revo tires.
Glad it worked out for you, but I think you’re missing the point.
I don’t use any type of throttle lock.
Why not? Are you going to blame the other driver when you’re lying in the hospital or dead?
Ah yes, the ole tank slapper! I’ve had a few of those on motorcycles, but I prefer to grip the tank with my knees and accelerate.
Driver aids on a motorcycle sound like a quick accident to me. If you’re not perfectly in tune with what is around you when riding, then you’re going to get in trouble. Driver aids like adaptive cruise let you zone out, which means you’re no longer paying 100% attention. I live by two tenets when riding:
I hadn’t heard of this before reading your post. An hour later I was at a solar PV construction site and someone casually mentioned that ALL of the Fords had been replaced with Chevys because they all developed death wobbles around 40K miles. It didn’t sound like a “wobble” so much as a terrible pull that would take…
Interesting. I hadn’t seen that report before. Couple those problems with climate change, and it’s a real mess... i.e. the mess we’re living in right now. Air quality just tanked in SF again.
Got any references to what you’re talking about?
Maybe having the Federal Government stop poorly managing their forests?! You do know that the forests burning in CA are primarily Federal right?
