I just watched this video again, and this is one of the shittiest TedX talks I’ve ever seen. He is completely conflating concepts, making sweeping generalizations, completely missing the advance of renewables (i.e. the Ivanpah project will never be replicated), and doesn’t understand trends such as distributed

This! So much this! “I get it, a lot of people don’t think electricity is sexy. But then perhaps consider you’re not really up to date on how it all works and what’s coming.”

First, you appear to be a troll judging by your user name. Good luck with all of your hating.

This post is so full of assumptions it makes me want to scream! The blackouts are primarily due to old transmission and distribution infrastructure, and have nothing to do with generation assets. Further, the utilities that manage the transmission and distribution infrastructure are not focused on power generation.

I just did a high-speed trip from San Francisco to a variety of project sites in Virginia, and back. I stopped in Indiana, Ohio, and Iowa to visit friends along the way, and traveled a lot around VA for work. My trip out was on I80, and I liked the fast transit. There was easy camping up and into Iowa, but it got

We have a large population of illegal immigrants in San Francisco too. I know quite a lot of them, and EVERY SINGLE ILLEGAL immigrant I know is a white European woman with a masters degree or higher.

Don’t take the statement so literally. You don’t have to get out and walk up to an angry and thrashing deer to know that it’s an angry and thrashing deer. You have lights on your car and can just drive back to take a look to see if it is a human. Reverse lights are usually good enough on backroads.

Gotta love that face!

I’m not looking at you, you’re looking at me.

A friend of mine did similar and didn’t face charges. Of course, the situation was a little different. A guy was masturbating while staring at my friend walk down the sidewalk. In a matter of seconds, the guy finished, turned around, and my friend threw a doggy bag of poop into the guy’s window. As I said, the guy

A Chevy Citation could hold that reddish-brown cargo and still exceed 34MPH.

Agreed, and it’s worked out perfectly with four partners so far. Since COVID started, we’ve been using it as a floating cottage and sailing it around the San Francisco Bay Area to different marinas. It’s a nice getaway to spend the weekend in a different town and have a boat to cook, relax, and sleep on.

Electra has treated us well. Having four partners on the boat helps keep costs down we do most of the work ourselves. I can’t imagine owning a boat all on my own!

That’s not an Electra Liner. This is an Electra Liner!

I love the idea of a motorcycle engine, but an old flat head V8 would be cool too. Classic engine, classic body, but mix it up by making it all modern everywhere else with carbon fiber suspension, wheels, etc. and modern electronics to control everything.

They’re not bad. Seriously, there’s a lot of fuss about them, but they’re not bad. At this point you’ll likely be dealing with a cracked dash, worn out seats, worn out shocks, and a need for a timing belt service. If you are handy, then repair everything yourself and pull the head to check the head gasket.

Thanks for the guidance. Can you shed some light on the salvage title process? I received a payout on a truck I had a few years ago when a guy rear ended the truck and totaled it. He had false documents, so my insurance paid out on the claim and said the truck would be salvage titled if I bought it back. I bought it

Ah, thanks for the correction. My steering wheel is the same as shown in the related pic though, so something still isn’t adding up. Can you post a pic of your 944S steering wheel?

That restoration is beautiful, and I 100% agree that the S2 is the 944 model to own! The only way I’d improve it is with an engine transplant to make more power. I’d be okay with an LS swap since the usable and tractable power would jump without the inconvenience of turbo lag. The car handles incredibly well too! It

It’s back!! The police found it a little after 6 today. The neighbors near where it was parked saw a lot of suspicious activity around it, and it was blocking one person’s driveway. When the police arrived, one officer pulled the cover off it and was startled to find the thief inside the car... with the cover on! The
