Cop: What can you tell me about the incident?
As the weight transfers forward, the rear unloads and has less traction to keep it from swinging around and passing the front. In racing we use the same thing, but we call it trail braking and it is extremely difficult to master: too much and you spin or have to straighten the steering wheel.
They put all these signs around where the people are and so the bears come in. I don’t understand why they do this.
I’ve owned some great cars in the past. But none of them were perfect. E46 M3, 2007 STi, 2010 RX7 R3, 2012 Boss 302.
Losing control like this comes from poor weight transfer and being too late to counter steer. It begins with being late to correcting the spin with steering. After that, the person realizes that they have gone too far and will chop the gas and nail the brakes.
This is a difficult question to answer because of the variety of power sources available for commercial electricity. I wrote a paper for work comparing the emissions of industrial Diesel engines versus electric motors and found that there were largely the same using hydro-electric (dams) generation.

Writing a comment to say good article and get you article read credit while destroying two tires and possibly wheels.
I’m a firm believer that level 4 autonomous vehicles should be illegal. The biggest challenge to autonomous vehicles is identifying very subtle differences between non-human obstacles and human obstacles on the road. Imagine a child laying in the road. Will the vehicle identify a child or a speed bump?
I don’t see the single piece of glass concept making it to production for one simple reason: replacement cost.
As an engineer who designs dangerous systems with humans around, I find this technology quite far from safe. Here are the changes I would make:

Do the obvious! If the car senses it is dark outside, and lights are off, turn the DRL and dash lights off.
You missed the boat:
Came to mention the zero fucks RX-7. Didn't need to.
Heavy duty trucks will never become unibody for one very simple reason: strength.
I was thinking 22b reading the title. Ex-nearly championship car = 100000000 better.
