The review saying his hosting duty for the Emmys was “serviceable” cracked me up, both because it was true and also because it was the most positive thing I’ve heard anyone say about him.

I blame Colin Jost, who may perhaps, be the most bland and dull individual in the history of human existence.

Good review for a very decent episode, thanks Dennis.

I guffawed so much. It's a common "joke" in a lot of movies and TV shows but it always gets me.

Wait, didn’t his mom die from complications due to plastic surgery?

Fuck Kanye. We need to say this often and loudly.

Some laugh out loud lines in this episode from Hill. The mumbled wailing during his “confession” to the rest of NATO was inspired and funny. I loved him apologizing to each country and having to ask Luxembourg who they were.

Tahani staying at the Bardo Monastery: not sure if anyone else has picked up on this already, but in Buddhism “Bardo” is the ‘place’ between death and rebirth.

You guessed it....Frank Stallone.

When I think of Stipe and Thom Yorke together, I always think of watching them on TV performing I think at the Tibetan Freedom Concert, and Stipe’s wearing a wrap/skirt the waist of which hung real low. “I hate conservatives, but I really fucking hate liberals.” -Matt Stone, 2005

Agreed. I imagine this isn’t doing well because it’s not really an anti-Trump film, it’s a ‘those clowns in Washington’ film that argues we need to tear down THE SYSTEM maaaan. Not the kind of argument we need a month + 1/2 before an extremely important election. (And I think this article’s really incomplete for not

I have to think “the general public being sick of Michael Moore’s whole shtick” played a very, very large role.

Mindy is so interesting. She’s far from perfect but I enjoy her hustle.

Probably doesn’t help that he remains committed to being absolutely full of shit:

I LOVED this show. I got no “buts” for it. Just loved it. I didn’t need it to make sense, or mean anything. I loved all of the characters (and actors) in it and enjoyed spending 10 weird episodes with them.

in a not-so-distant future where people can rent friends and pay for subway rides and dinner by listening to a person read ads out loud.
