It’s clear that Tesla is correct and the accident was caused by “own negligent acts and/or omissions.” Specifically, he trusted what Elon Musk has repeatedly said in various forms about FSD being safer than a human driver.

If you are going to brag about the mods you did, list them. Let me know what you did and I’ll decide if they add value for me (or vise versa).
The man is nothing but a con artist.
The only judging he is doing is the monthly amount. If you gave him a $2500/month payment for 30 years to get a Bentley you know what he would be rolling out of the dealership with.
No time for in-depth reporting, got to get it on the internet for clicks.
A co-worker was at a high end auction recently in which a car sold for what everyone thought was a crazy high price. Some people sitting behind the winning bidder started commenting about how he overpaid. He turned around and asked if they had a chance to buy their dream car, would they pay one month’s wages for it.…
There is at least one in Guelph. Blah for me, my wife says it is unbelievably ugly.
Holes in rockers on both sides means asking price is way too high. I would be skeptical of the condition of the unibody - this thing needs an extensive going over for rust.
The pictures do not match up with “fiery crash” or “fully engulfed”. If you watch the TV video and see when the truck is being pulled up onto the flatbed, it does not match up with what we have seen previously on EVs that have been “fully engulfed”.
At this price point, I shouldn’t be risking burning the car down if I try to drive it home. If the fuel leak is truly just a line between the pump and carb, then replace the bloody thing. Oil pan leak should also be fixed at this price point, but that leads me to believe it is more likely a rear main seal leak.
For me, if the bottom of the rear hatch opening is not level with the load floor, it is not a station wagon, but rather a hatch-back. Huge difference in functionality, although I doubt most buyers in the market for this are focused on loading functionality.
If you had read the Carscoops article that you linked to, you would have realized that the car was not being dropped off to the new owner on this stop.
Agreed. If the local authorities couldn’t even be bothered to block off the bridge, how exactly is Google supposed to be aware that the road is closed?
Also, the insurance company decided that repair costs would be more than the car was worth at the time (presumably more than it is now). The owner then bought it back and had it repaired. What are the odds that it was properly repaired?
With all the other tech that governments mandate in cars, they should have mandated cell signal blockers that are on whenever the vehicle is in gear.
In Ontario we specifically have a law that says police officers cannot be charged for distracted driving if they are on their in-car computers. Apparently they are trained to drive safely while distracted.
I had a ‘78 Granada that I was having alignment issues with. I was working construction and didn’t have time in the summer to work on the car myself so I dropped it off at an alignment shop and asked for them to diagnose the issue. They called and said it was done, and by the time I got home the tires were howling on…
So worst case scenario, he crashes and is bleeding out. His mother can see it on the livestream and can’t do one single thing about it. So, totally pointless and didn’t increase safety at all, likely made it worse because of the extra weight on his neck.
Strangest section in the CBC article is this:
And yet here in Ontario, the best deal I’ve found on an 500e is $113/week.
