I think what you are missing is this line in the article regarding the monorail: “It’s an autonomously operated multi-car train that shifts a few hundred people every six minutes on both north and southbound tracks.”

From the NBC article you linked to: ““It didn’t have any abnormal speeds, just looked like someone driving down coast with cops behind and his hazard lights on going 40-50 miles per hour, then drove off the cliff,” Shryock said.”

So you’re saying it would be a win-win?

I voted ND because of the rust issues. My nephew just bought one of the same year for the same money in Canadian dollars (so ~32% cheaper) and it was in better shape (spent 30 years in a garage) and had a turbo engine installed.

That’s exactly what winning an auction is.  The winner was willing to pay more than anyone else participating in the auction.

It looks as if a few of the upgrades he did addressed at least some of the problems, but without more information it’s hard to tell if he covered more of the issues.

Horses and early automobiles weren’t fast enough to be a danger to the people who used streets as walking and cycling thoroughfares.”

This exactly.  F1 created this situation, now they get to try to correct it.  Ultimately they need to stop defining rules to rein in specific drivers or help specific drivers.  They need to create rules to secure a safe drive for all drivers and then enforce it equally every single time.   In other words it will never

“Youtuber” = zero sympathy.

The most recent Tesla owner I saw walking to her car walked across the entire parking lot with her face in her phone, so pretty much no difference other than the potential damage level.

Facts get in the way of clickbaity headlines.  Of course we all fell for it and clicked, so mission accomplished.

It would take you $5K to get that one to the condition this one is in.  It’s quite rusty so you need to do bodywork and paint, tons of detailing needed.

But “White color and Tan interior!”. Don’t you value that barely a colour combo highly?

I am 100% the target market for this car, but some of the "little" things it needs are such warning flags that this is nothing but ND.  In the $4-5K range, Yes depending on a check verifying that there are no hidden rust issues.

Fairly decent $3K car. ND at this price.

One million percent tariffs for the win.

Nope. Had an 85 that was the same spec and even the same colour. Gutless wonder that amazingly enough wasn’t all that much fun to drive as slow car fast. I made a couple passes with that thing and it required the right conditions of a downhill grade, very slow car in front of you, at least a half mile of clear

In my town they recently built a “bypass” to improve traffic flow. Two lanes each way, divided highway. Each end has a traffic round-about. Not one single side street or driveway off this section. Speed limit is 60 km/h. Stupid, but it is now the public face of “dangerous speeders”. Cops are setting up radar traps and

4 door “coupe” - for those times when a sedan just has too much rear seat headroom.
