I think you need to reset your Kinect settings. I have no problems at all talking to my Kinect. The most important setting is the one where you have to turn your tv volume way up so the Kinect can hear you even with your tv playing loud.

If you have never played the original, I'd recommend you don't play any Yoshi's Island until you can. Hence, the no. I don't see much merit in recommending a game that I think is inferior even if, today, you might not be able to play Yoshi's Island on a 3DS.

I go to GameStop all the time. It is faster than Amazon. Even with Amazon's fastest shipping options it can't beat just driving to GameStop. I'm an impatient person when it comes to getting things I want to get.
