Auto updates an be turned off. I have mine set for 4am so it updates while I sleep. When the 4.45 debacle happened, I just turned off my auto update and unplugged my ps3 just in case.

Not everyone plays those games. In fact, many in the industry play primarily sports games. Don't assume everyone has the same opinion as you. It makes you come off as a real dick.
