Funding R&D in ICE efficiency will do nothing to help climate change in the next 10-15 years. ICE has also hit the point of diminishing returns — it’s not like you’re going to build a 5 liter, 500hp V8 that gets 80mpg. This also does nothing to incentivize the actual consumer to drive more efficient vehicles.

Their problem is they’re not willing to stop clinging to power, even if it means putting the entire country at risk. Ginsburg wouldn’t do it. Dianne Feinstein won’t do it. Breyer won’t do it. Patrick Leahy won’t do it.

I mean, that was a comprehensive acknowledgement, and seems very sincere. I’d say that was one of the best (or maybe just the longest) acknowledgements I’ve seen a celebrity do in the face of massive backlash for an obviously bad choice.

I’m sure they didn’t. But the way he tells it it was an important enough moment in his life but one that was never mentioned until he was doing an event in Idaho. Which doesn’t explain why any previous times he’s been to Idaho he didn’t do it while campaigning, even it it were false.
