As a side note “ventilated” is my favorite euphemism for that act. I know an old guy who says “let the air out of them” that is also in the rotation for me.

We only enforce the Sherman act every 30 years or so. Don’t be ridiculous.
It feels like replacing a single piece underbody in a car would be like trying to replace all the wood framing in a house,... You’re basically going to take the whole thing apart to do it.
My understanding is that mold making frequently requires what is called hard machining. In order to make a gear (for example) that needed to be extra durable, the standard machining process would be to machine the gear to shape while its material is in a softer state, then through a chemical/heat process they harden…
There is no amount of salt that makes his advice good. Ignore him completely. If you see him in person, tell him he sucks.

I would also guess that they’re doing some very advanced things to detect and mitigate wheelspin. In addition to being able to provide instantaneous torque, it is approximately infinitely easier to very quickly modulate the torque with electric hub motors.
They put them in a pill bottle and paid doctors to prescribe them???
One of the big goals of this experimental aircraft is to investigate ways to change the sound profile of the sonic booms so that it could transition closer to inhabited areas.
We are talking about like 60+ years of development between the SR-71/A12 and Concorde and this one. Hypersonic missiles have been a focus in the meantime as well, so I’m sure we’ve gotten much better at resisting and managing that kind of heating.
