I had a relative easy labor and delivery with a very much wanted child and there was nothing healing about that. It was scary and painful and pushed my to my absolute physical and emotional limits.

Most people in her position only think of “rape” as “total stranger abducts a person and violently ravishes them before dumping them in a ditch”. They assume there is no connection between them before or after. They think “date rape” is actually just remorse on the part of the girl, and they don’t even want to think…
by ‘healing’ one can assume she isn’t referring to mother and child receiving any sort of Health Care.
Counterpoint: Ask the women who aborted their rapists’ spawn whether they feel keeping it would have been more healing for them. She is literally only asking the rapists’ spawn (assuming they’re actually what she says and not some b.s. she imagined into existence) whether they wish they were dead instead. Which all…
I suppose she has no thoughts about the fact that most rapes of children are committed by family members, and therefore not much can be “healing” about carrying a resulting pregnancy to term while worried it will be deformed or disabled due to incest. Nor the fact that the child might be in forced proximity to their…
Can somebody please explain to me just what the fuck (if anything) this means?
That she’s only down 5 points shows just how fucking ridiculous a wide swath of Michigan voters are. I’m lucky to live in Blue Michigan, not Red, but outside of a few counties there’s so many more Trumplicans than there should be.
Dear god how oblivious can one person be? How many rape victims has she talked to? This kind of idiocy in GOP candidates defies rational thought.
Conservatives don’t ever seem to consider or mention that the vast majority of unwanted and unloved children go on to lead anything but great and inspiring lives.
I am so grossed out by this.
Oh good. I’m so glad she’s talked to the children of rape before deciding that everything was peachy-keen for their mothers. Didn’t need to talk to them. I’m sure they were all thrilled to bear their rapists’ babies. I bet it was super-healing.
Cherry on top: she knows it’s healing because she’s talked to children of rape.
That’s what I thought:
Yes, you’ve talked to people.
People who have been born.
How many children who have just given birth does she talk to?
How many children who are desperately trying to go to school while they have a baby, how many of those people has she talked to?
Or is it only, strangely, the adult articulate adult…
“It’s very hard to not stand up for those people.”
Is it just me or does this read like she is supportive of a continued bond between a rapist and their victim?
Trump’s view of the world is so incredibly skewed that media popularity is the only metric he can judge things by.
Yeah, I found that hilarious/horrifying. For someone to say - out loud - that “candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome”, as if it’s some odd exception to the norm, just stopped me dead.
It never fails to amaze me how dumb (or weird or both) Trump is. He can’t fathom how someone who was “popular” or “successful” on TV can lose an election for public office.
Even better, Yertle is basically admitting that, without gerrymandering, the GOP is toast. When they can’t choose their voters, they struggle mightily.
This is absolutely vile.
