Ha! They stopped being Christian years ago. During the Reagan times and the rise of the “Religious Right”. Smith was absolutely correct in his assessment ... and that’s why they are losing their minds over it.

I’ve read a few articles about this now and every one of them has a weird headline. He wasn’t mocked over the nominations. He was part of a passive-aggressive complaint about someone ELSE’s *lack* of nominations. The way this and other headlines read sounds as though the nominations themselves were being mocked. They…
Sometimes I just wear the hat into the shower and use shampoo to clean it. No noticable damage or wear because of it. Shampoo gets rid of all the gunk in your hair that ends up in your hat, and it does a pretty good job of getting it out of there as well.
You care a little, otherwise you wouldn’t have posted twice in this discussion.
he’s telling a story during an interview, don’t think he was looking for sympathy.
This article does not do a good job of explaining it. In the podcast he makes it more clear. She was saying he deserved the nomination but not to win. “Yeah, I guess you deserved a nomination. I guess. But lol that you deserve an actual award for THAT performance.” That was the gist of what she said.
Because there are some kickass plant-based chicken nuggets out there and not everyone wants meat ones all the time.
You take your kids to the pool because it’s hot out and they like to swim and play in the water with other kids. They learn social skills, cooperative and competitive play, and get some exercise and fresh air.
No , everyone should think twice before inflicting cruelty on animals.
While they might not be pets, as sentient beings capable of feeling pain we might want their short lives not to be so awful. We can eat animals and also raise them in fair, kind systems. If we treated animals better we might also treat people better.
Because they taste good and serve the same function? I don’t see the problem.
Animal lovers can absolutely eat animals - it’s part of the food chain. The point is that everyone should think twice before supporting the torture of animals.
So if an animal’s headed to the pet shop, you think it should be treated well; if it’s headed to the grocery store, they can torture the fuck out of it and you don’t care. Nice value system you got there.
Though I would 100% go to a Hooters clone where all the ‘busty waitresses’ were drag queens.
The difference is at a beach people are wearing swimsuits as a function. In Hooters they’re wearing skimpy clothes ONLY to be ogled and make money from it.
Gross difference.
Honestly I’m suspicious of anyone at any age wanting to go to Hooters in 2022. Like, this isn’t 1983.
RE 12 year old at Hooters.
Those items mostly seem like they could apply to any meal though...?
It makes me sad that this site is mostly just linking to other interviews these days. AV Club had some of the best and most insightful interviews in its heyday.
It all comes down to his face. I have to hand it to Foley--his face drops into such utter despair whenever the song is on and he’s just staring off. It lends the thing a whole other level that is so depressing and also so perfectly Kids in the Hall.
