From the brief description in this article it doesn't sound like it's thinking in 'opposites', unless you mean that by thinking of something that isn't true it's the opposite of what is true. I doubt you mean that though since that could describe any creative thinking at all.

Obviously the Romans who crucified Graham's "savior" were spurred to violence by their addiction to violent video games. Ditto Ghengis Khan. and Pol Pot. and he who shall not be named... etc.

I don't disagree with your premise that Apple's database can be useful, and yes my example of the kinds of recommendations that both Apple AND Pandora can give was pretty shallow. There are much deeper and more complex searches available from the data in both data sets.

What people will spend money on is more valuable from Apple's moneymaking perspective, but it's not more valuable for the listener wanting a service that finds music he or she will like.

The trouble is, we'll have to wait and see if Apple actually goes that far and uses their own data, or opts instead to use a third-party algorithm instead of reinventing the wheel. We hope they choose to do it themselves—it could mean a better wheel in the end.

That's actually kind of funny - maybe Yahoo will try to spin in it into a positive - something like...

It's advantage is that it's $240-$360 cheaper over the course of a year, or $30 less if you only need to use it for a one limited-time basis ($30 = monthly license for PS that you can cancel at any time).

The only way to be sure no one will ever re-use your creations is to keep it to yourself and not share it with anyone. Since that's not an option for most people creating things, a use license can at least limit how and where your content is used.

No it won't stop everyone, because if you share it, it's going to get

Why not just ask why would anyone ever use a shortcut for anything?

One of the best uses is to find out whose talking about you? I guess it could be for the self-obsessed web-addicted,

the only reason i can think it wasn't in the list is because it's so ubiquitous lifehacker didn't think they needed to mention it.

Notice the article never said anything about saving money or convenience?

amateur. i am going on 5+ years without a haircut - or at least a haircut in the conventional sense.
