Not a JarJar apologist, but I have to quibble a bit here. I don't think it's as clear cut which is more annoying because Jar-Jar sits on the age divide. Kids love his zany bumbling antics while (most) adults find him not-quite mind-numbingly (numbing would be a welcome surcease) annoying.

Sweet dreams.

You have to be kidding right? I got stopped and berated and yelled at for the better part of a half hour one night because I got lost driving home from a restaurant I'd never been to before. I was in a city and after trying to find a way to the highway for a while (pre-smartphone) I decided I was lost so just kept

In other words "We the credit card companies will take every opportunity to not give you any money back"

update: I found a recent blog post on IronicSoftware's site (makers of Tag-It) which says:

Well, I like to pretend I am more organized than I actually am so I don't have all that much data I would lose. I really like the idea of tagging it could help me find stuff a lot easier, but in reality I've used tagging for a very small subset of documents - not so much because of the tagging apps but more because I

Any word on whether the tagging functionality is based on the OpenMeta standard or whether it's an Apple frankensolution? I've been using the free TagIt app to add tags to my docs for a couple of years, a free OS upgrade is tempting, but I'd hate to upgrade and find out that Apple did something funky under the

Polite conversation is payment enough. I love cool software, and enjoy sharing it. Miro is my latest 'find'.

enjoy.

Actually if you are on a windows machine Miro is using VLC to play media - so it's like VLC on steroids - it plays everything from your usual audio/video formats to Youtube to Hulu. It even has a bittorrent pausable downloader.

Why VLC when there's Miro?

There are other ways to singlehandedly hold a paperback book.

I am eagerly awaiting the equally useful companion hive five survey "Best way to hold a paperback book while reading".

I generally only use one hand when I hold a book while reading, but I don't think I've ever held a book that way when I read.

I am not advocating kill-traps, but this is useless if you just put the mouse outside. If a mouse found a way into your house and you let it go outside of your house it's going to find it's way back in again. Maybe if you want to drive it a mile or so away it won't find it's way back to your yard/house so you'll

Well of course if your department is made up of similarly crazy people then all bets are off...

At the risk of incensing cat lovers, no - generally when people think someone is a 'crazy cat lady' they mean crazy weird, not crazy good.

One could argue that it's relevant because it's something humorous created by a game developer. Or not.

Or to condense it a bit:

You could always just set a series of alarms. Or if you use the snooze-delay creatively you can just use the same alarm all day.

Can't stand Outlook. It's been the standard where I work for the past 10 years, and I've been using Thunderbird for the past 10 years. I use it with the Lightning calendar plugin with an Exchange connector so events my co-workers schedule me for show up - with reminders - in Thunderbird.
