BL2's Flakker probably would’ve felt like a better weapon if there’d been a character designed specifically to take advantage of it like there is in BL3.

Borderlands is literally Power Creep - The Series. Borderlands is all about making yourself bonkers powerful. That’s the whole bloody point.

But it’s also the logical progression of the game. BL2 did this with OP levels. As you got more powerful, you went up in content tiers that dropped better and better loot making you more and more powerful.

Woah calm down there bud. Have a juice box. I was responding to a comment about powerful guns trivializing content. I didn’t say BL3 should be harder overall.

A 70% nerf to Hex’s damage isn’t finding a goldilocks zone for that. It’s just swinging the nerf bat like you’re expecting to hit a pinata.

Then make harder content.

It didn’t though. It took a lot of items to make the explosives build as bonkers as it was. And ALL of them were world drops, so it’s not like farming a particular boss was going to help you. You needed a tracer grenade of some kind (some variant of the Hex usually here), a class mod that bumped up the appropriate

Then make harder content. I think it’s ok if there’s a progression path through content levels as you gear up. That seems reasonable. But this isn’t just nerfing an overpowered weapon; what they’ve done here is gut an entire build. That’s not good game design.

Yeah, as far as I can tell the interactions I was using there are exactly what I was supposed to be doing. I guess maybe they didn’t test pairing the Explosions tree with the Explosions gun.

That’s kinda where I am too. I was really happy with my build. I was having fun. Apparently that’s where I went wrong. And reading some of the other replies here, apparently I should feel bad about that.

What are you talking about? I read the skill trees, I found weapons and items that supported the skills in that tree, and then I equipped those. What exactly did I do wrong there?

Yeah seriously. They designed a game that’s meant to have wacky hijinks ensuing at every angle and then nerfed the hijinks that ensue? What is that?

That’s a legitimate concern, but remember my position was to buff underperforming builds, not nerf overperforming ones.

Better than being illiterate I suppose. Good luck with that.

Fun detected -> Fun nerfed.

In fact I know Loom, specifically, is sold on Steam.

And what’s wrong with Loom exactly? Go play Loom.

Ok but did you do that from memory or did you have to go fire up Monkey Island to get the exact text?

I guess they should’ve immediately called the authorities and arranged for Blitzchung to be sent to a re-education camp.

Or they don’t know what to do.
