One of the consistent things I hear from Gamestop employees is that they love it right up until they don’t. There’s no in-between. It’s great and then one day it’s the 4th circle of Hell. So if that pattern holds true I’d say that most of the people currently working for Gamestop, at least at the store level, are

Well none of those other stores exclusively sell gaming stuff. But I think they still will even after the holidays. There’s still a good demand for physical media when it comes to games. I don’t think that’s going away any time soon.

It lacks basic functionality and is throwing its money at exclusivity deals instead of creating a worthwhile product. But ok.

Features like a shopping cart?

It is but not nearly as fast as Gamestop’s demise would seem to indicate. Best Buy, Target, Amazon, Wal Mart... these stores are all selling physical copies of games just fine thank you very much and none of them are showing any signs of stopping that any time soon. Gamestop’s problems aren’t an issue with the

Just because you don’t agree with me doesn’t mean I’m lying. I’m not entirely certain you know what a lie is.

It’s cool, it is and is going to be a really frustrating time for Gamestop’s employees. And there are a lot of those. But they’re actually luckier than most. Most of the time when a company is about to go down in flames you don’t get nice warnings like this, it just happens. Now they have a chance to do something

It’s not like I have any lack of games to play. My existing Steam library is a federal disaster area.

Kotaku has failed to notice the problems with Epic and their store so completely at this point that it can only be deliberate.

At this point Kotaku has failed to recognize the actual problems with Epic so completely and frequently that it can’t possibly be an accident.

Definitely didn’t say it was easy. Finding a new job is always hard (I’ve been doing it for months now). But at least they have some warning if they’re paying attention. Finding work while out of work is 10x harder.

I considered buying my Switch from Gamestop, and then decided I’d get both a better deal and a better experience literally anywhere else.

No, that’s going to suck. But it’s not like Gamestop didn’t also fall into that same category.

It’s practically a case study in mismanagement.

First a bunch of managers and now 14% of their corporate staff? If “ABANDON SHIP” isn’t ringing in the head of every Gamestop employee at this point, I don’t even know what to tell them. It’s time to update that resume and find another job QUICKLY.

He doesn’t claim to be an expert, but if you actually watch his stuff instead of just dismissing it out of hand, you’ll see that he’s consulted with experts and has actually done a decent amount of research on the subject.

Honestly that wasn’t my experience with it. Their cash shop definitely has some things in it I’d prefer weren’t there. If you want to toss them some money, their premium status is worth buying. But outright pay-to-win? Nah.

Check out Tree of Savior if you’re looking for an MMO in that style. Pretty good game too.

And knowing is half the battle!

Asking the real questions here. Those boots too.
