I agree, I think something should be worked out for situations like this.  The guy is a rich a-hole but there’s others less fortunate that maybe a monthly fee for being a resident could be worked out.

When I lived in NYC, I walked 20 minutes several times a day.

I walk 40-60 minutes each day, every day. My wife walks more. That said, before my pup, I did not. Another reason to get a dog.

I get at least an hour a day of walking.

The point is, people are welcome into NYC. But your car isn’t. Not only should there be surge pricing, street parking should also cost.

I’m surprised to hear that you don’t believe many people might walk 20 minutes a day. On weekends I normally walk at least an hour a day, just for fun. I am also lucky enough that I can walk to and from work in about 20 minutes each way. I do this very happily, year round (and I live in a part of Canada that has very

The center of my dinky town is a whole 2.5 miles from my house.  45 minutes. Suck it up!

I lived in Manhattan for 35 years, and I did everything I could to avoid anything but walking, even an hour or more. I walked to work anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes every day to avoid traffic or the dreaded subway. I don't understand this guy at all ,and I made good money.

He has a garage spot, that’s the only answer.

I really want that for this guy. Everyone else pays by the day-he pays everytime he crosses into midtown.

You aren’t going to defeat EZ Pass. As for the plate readers-I don’t know. I have a reflective cover on my plate (rear only) and got tagged once when I forgot to bring the EZ Pass. That was on a highway-but still.

He likely has a doorman and on site valet. He doesn’t park-but he does pick and drop off at his door. This....doesn’t really help his case in most people’s eyes.

Heal thyself, you rich moron.

Is he seriously getting a parking spot in front of his building every time as he claims? Could he simply park on a different side of the street to avoid the fee?

if you plan on seeing your kids, park one block over, save $9.

I was wondering if they might charge you every time you circled the block trying to find something.

My hot take: If you notice a $9 fee to visit your kids, you either don’t really love your kids very much, or you’re not really that rich.

RIF - It’s $9 per day, not $9 every time you cross the line.

Instead of complaining that he, a very rich man, has to pay a whole $9 to drive to see his kids, he could instead contemplate the factors that contributed to his children living, you know, elsewhere.
