Anyone who thinks that doing this is possible within our lifetimes needs to pick up a copy of A City on Mars by Kelly and Zach Weinersmith. You will quickly be disabused of the idea.

Not so much a problem but a method. Even when my friend’s Lexus 450h died (low voltage battery 12v); they put it on the skateboards for just a mile of towing to be safe.

Do not taunt Cybertruck.

You think negative review about a car as a new company is forming isn’t a big deal?”

Yeah this always made sense to me. I do agree it was probably staged with the expectation that “we’re just not going to plan around it running out of charge and make that the downside” because at the time, that was indeed a HUGE downside!

All good tow truck drivers probably are aware of this and will tow the vehicle properly.  Bad tow truck drivers risk the vehicle catching fire.

I also love that they are talking about a review of a vehicle that probably shares almost nothing with anything Tesla produces today. Like, why is anyone re-deliberating a product from the company’s infancy? What a strange thing to have such strong feelings about.

I suspect a lot of EV’s could require flat bedding, since I think if the wheels have a motor attached they would function as a generator when being towed.

It’s real weird to for two people to confidently pontificate about an event that happened a decade and a half ago, which neither of them witnessed, on a TV show that neither of them were involved with at the time.

TIL old Canberras are still pounding around.  Not gonna lie, warmed the heart to hear it.

It was more of a shock and awe event.  My wife called me up to complain about the noise.   She was at the neighbor’s house.

“YES! We made the car invisible!”

And to release half-baked products that don’t work, much to the chagrin of said engineers, I’m sure.

This seems like it should be a good XKCD comic panel.

The phrase “move fast and break things” was originally ussed in engineering to describe processes to uncover flaws quickly so they can be fixed.

Unfortuntatly, somewhere along the line it was co-opted by tech entreprenuers (with zero engineering acumin) as a way to justify destroying humanity’s economy, environment,

This definitely seems dubious. Crucially, I wonder what the opportunity for arbitrage is. If solar companies are having to pay inordinate amounts to compete for a dose of sunlight on their panels, how will they make money selling that energy? And this is still as susceptible as normal sunlight to things like cloud

It likely won’t cover the cost of anyone not directly employed by the municipality even to come out & survey the damage.

A fine for overweight vehicles should be increased dramatically if a vehicle causes catastrophic damage. $2500 is a joke and I imagine it won’t come close to covering repair costs.

Wow. You gotta be some sort of Anti-mensa to attempt driving an f750 across an old covered bridge, no matter what signs are there.

These Beetlejuice Beetlejuice tie-ins are getting ridiculous.
