Police in this country can outright murder and get away with it most of the times. Are you really surprised about the lying thing?

in their heart of hearts, I think today’s GOP is all about getting and maintaining power, and so I wonder how the “Lincoln Republicans” will respond when the Cult 45 part of the GOP puts forth a slightly less T***py Republican presidential candidate, and they’re forced again to cede power to make their point, or just

Also, this is just one of the many reasons people nationwide keep yelling about de-funding the police.

Why are there not serious consequences for lying on reports submitted?

Harris County in which state? I may have overlooked it, but I can’t find this info in the article.

It’s difficult for any story to make me feel sad for a police officer these days, but these women didn’t deserve this kind of treatment. The other officers in the story remain scum.

Why are there not serious consequences for lying on reports submitted? If we lied on official document submitted, we would be prosecuted. It seems that the police can lie, change the lie, lie again, and be no consequences for those actions, let alone the abhorrent actions by these officers of the law.

Fucking gross. If they can prove this, there should be serious consequences for the senior officers. Cops clearly can’t police themselves. It came out a while ago that a head of the Boston police union was promoted and given leadership responsibilities even though it was an open secret that he was a pedophile: https://

I didn’t watch SNL until Sunday night, so I’d read all about this by the time I saw it.

Commensurate (although commiserate may be more appropriate in this case!)

Exactly my response to someone above.

This restaurant doesn’t have a “dress code”. Restaurants that do make it clearly visible and understood to anyone who wants to eat there. What this restaurant has is some nebulous “policy” from the annals of Studio 54 designed to give the host and GM the ability to turn away

Dress codes at restaurants are stupid. Not saying it always happens but eating is one of the most common activities I do that may get my clothes dirty. This food better be unattainable elsewhere if I’m going to be required wear something more expensive to have it. I mean this if they’re serious about the dress code

Nothing about this restaurant is fancy. It happens to be in a “nice-ish” outdoor shopping mall in the Buckhead district of Atlanta. They have an outdoor seating area literally in the driveway of the mall valet, and which overlooks a gelato shop and the back of a Shake Shack. The 90 degree heat in Atlanta

The so-called apology and next steps made sure to leave room to repeat the racist behavior. Instead of all the subterfuge they needed only to say that it will be their policy moving forward to allow guests the use of a blazer or other garment to comply with the dress code. But they didn’t. They want to reserve the

That is the most impressive non-apology I’ve seen...TODAY.

The character/performer facade immediately vanishes and we are left with the universal look of “Shit! Pants don’t fail me now!”.

They’re opposed to challenging a student’s fixed beliefs? Why the hell even have class then? If everyone’s interpretation of something is correct because it might challenge their beliefs if they’re not, then you aren’t teaching anything.

Oh my GOD. Really? That’s really part of a platform? To ban critical thinking skills?

Reality overtook parody at some point in the aughts.

I came here to be bathed in the thoughts of rational people and I am not disappointed. Among other things, you make a valid point about the “new” 60 Minutes.  The “old” 60 minutes might have suspected that a young person was pressured into a surgery without proper evaluation, confronted that surgeon on camera, and
