Hey I like a final arbiter who encourages teen depression and suicide as an inevitable byproduct of waiting for the prefrontal cortex, don’t you?
Since Florida is obviously America’s Wang ... that makes the gulf coast the taint, and Texas IS the asshole.
Defund means more cops available for emergencies, not less.
It took those cops 16 minutes to arrive because driving in Austin fucking sucks ass, not because they were defunded
Also, there was that poll that showed something like 70, 80% of respondents knew “defund” was symbolic wording, not literal. Bad faith calls come from inside the house too...
It should have been two separate stories: one about conservatives who are trying to legislate trans people out of existence, and another about the sketchy care that some trans people appear to get. Trans care needs to be comprehensive and coordinated.
Informed consent doctors and the ability to pay out of pocket for everything. Its how I got top surgery before I even started hormones, all without needing to go through a therapist first. And my surgeon wasn’t unscrupulous; he just applied the same criteria for service to me as to all his other patients coming in to…
Ew. That’s a gross take (and specious logic).
The decision to allow puberty to progress in a trans-identified person is also life-changing. Experts specifically point out that that can cause long-term damage when the adolescent reaches adulthood. To ignore that fact in order to pursue your anti-trans talking points is illogical, ascientific, and disingenuous.
They use the same logic in both cases. Hundreds of millions of deaths are an acceptable exchange for conservatives not having to feel like they’re helping other people by wearing masks; any amount of suffering by trans people is acceptable as long as fewer people end up detransitioning. It’s axiomatic for…
It absolutely isn’t and you cannot just get top surgery as a kid. I’m so angry and frustrated about this conversation. Four years of watching journalists pretend to be “neutral” as they give more and more airtime to conservative hysterics (more than four years, but you know, let me attempt to limit my rage).
Detransiti…
The transphobes insist that the experience of someone who detransitions or does not transition is infinitely more important than the experience of any number of trans people.
So what you’re saying is that we should listen to the experts, except not the ones you cited?
Weird that you link to that and not AACAP’s actual discussion of trans kids. Almost as though you had a reason for the sleight of hand.
They also probably wouldn’t oppose access to puberty blockers which, as the name implies, delay puberty allowing for thought through decisions and eliminating need of many procedures trans people might otherwise have (ie facial surgeries, electrolysis etc.)
After my spouse and I watched the report last night, the only thing we could think was “where are the other 2 minutes?”. We could not figure out who thought this was ready for air and why. We were rattling off questions and concerns off the top of our heads that we couldn’t believe a journalist as experienced as…
Yeah that was a really strange turn they took. The start starts with explaining all the anti-trans laws... then the focus of the rest of the show is in de-transitioning. I was a bit confused for sure.
After 2020 and nearly 600M Covid deaths, I think it’s safe to say that Republicans shouldn’t be making any health related decisions for anyone.
