his work for Inside Man is amazing

I think in LA's case, with so many rebuilding public schools and fledgling charter/private programs, this kind of price-hike could make it harder for a teacher to make the case for a school to open the wallet for something valuable like a class-set, if they're set on the mindset that students can just buy their own.

yeah I didn't mean to imply that the state of education was somehow Harper Lee's fault, but the book is still an institution in most, if not all of America's schools. It's not like Lee's estate is getting undercut by the airport terminal bookstore industry- the people who were buying that book for its cheapest rate

I live in Southeast Louisiana, where a lot of the schools had to be completely reconfigurated and some summarily abandoned post-katrina, as private and charter schools. At the high school level, the majority of the reading assignments have to be purchased by the students, and a lot of the schools have massive

this sucks. I work at a bookstore and I'm constantly faced with stressed out low-income families having to shill out tons of money for their kids' high school english assignments because their budget-strapped schools are doing little to nothing to provide any sort of cheap or discounted copies to their students.

Definitely Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in the MCU. Those two do more touching and staring into each other's eyes than 99% of the actual couples in that entire franchise.

Oh man, I'm STILL upset.

I still love them to this day despite my adolescent existential terror!

two movies that Messed Me Up when I was 12: The Ring and The Mothman Prophecies. The former gave me a fear of television static and the latter made me scared to look in the bathroom mirror at night. And both made me really really really uninterested in answering a landline phone for any reason.

I'm still distressed that Benjamin Walker was perfectly cast for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and it was still terrible.

they actually cover this in the TFA novelization that just came out, and the best part is the explanation basically boils down to 'poe has a concussion and wanders off in the wrong direction and is picked up by another scavenger who pretty much just thinks he's hot and amusing'

"I'm going to a party, I'm already 20 minutes late."
"Oh yeah, where's the party?"
"In space, Bret. In space."

just for one day

It's not even a single off the album but I keep coming back to "Miss You" off Alabama Shakes' Sound and Color, mostly for the singular pleasure of hearing Brittany Howard sing "I'm Yours" over and over.

"Right Hand Man" and "Guns and Ships" also have that "so hyped you wanna kill a man" energy but maybe that's just me.

No love for the many many many awful terrible 'Lost' flashback wigs? It was hard enough to watch Matthew Fox cry about all the______ but it was even worse when he had a dead badger on his head.

I think Mark Ruffalo was trying to do 'grizzled law man' and ended up more like 'puppy trying to be super tough despite smallness and fuzziness'

The first movie was dumb and shiny and pointless and I loved it.

The inclusion of Angry Beavers on this list warms my cold dead heart.
