I live on the Canadian border in northern NY. The past 10 years have been relatively mild (usually only a week of -36 ish temps) but the current weather reminds me of the stuff from my childhood. My school would not close for snow unless it was 2' an hour and we only had delays for cold if the buses wouldn't start.

Don't speed-shave or scrimp on the foaming agent. I would imagine most of those injuries were from bleeding.

Thanks! I hope it does as well. It's supposed to keep raining tonight, and I have to drive 90 miles south to Syracuse tomorrow for work. Eek. I remember the ice storm well, though I don't recall the exact number of days we were without power. 13-16 days, I think. I remember it started January 7th, though! (I was 11)
