Just out of curiosity, what bearing would the fire have on whether they continue to breed or not? Unless the dogs set the fire, it doesn't signify.

I know this is slightly snappish, but I get tired of the "dog breeders are horrible people" rant I encounter on here frequently. While there are some who are awful, most of the breeders I've met in my time have been very responsible with their breeding and breeding programs.

It sounded like they had at least one litter of puppies. I know when my mother used to raise dogs, one female could easily have between 8-12 puppies. It wouldn't take much more than that to raise it to 22.
