My main job is with the state of NY and I won't be paid for 5 weeks after I start working there, so paycheck number one is on June 22.

Awwwww...I'm so sorry! I haven't really been one to get out and date a lot (now a moot point since I'm in a long-term relationship) but I have met friends in person from the internet. I usually spend a long time getting to know them online first though.

Jesus, that looks amazing! I'm currently so poor that I'm depleting my food reserves. Looks like I'll be resorting to rice and whatever frozen meats/veggies I have until I get paid again. Which, depending on gas, might leave me with about 10 bucks for another two weeks.

I don't really think there's much for "making up" with a situation like that. The best you can do is to not freak out again, but perhaps you could have your mom watch your daughter so you two could have a stress-free period of time together and maybe take a breather?
