It's so very very interesting to me how we are trained to look at victims through one lens: she is never allowed to have any positive-looking interaction with the person who assaulted her. Ever.

So glad you decided to share this! There's just something so powerful about watching people do something they're amazing at and passionate for, especially in a non-traditional role. I'm glad the Smithsonian is giving them their due.
