I was very disappointed when I saw that movie, because I knew about it for years only from Leonard Maltin's description of it, where he said it was about a "giant salami." I was picturing a literal giant salami. A melted bear just didn't cut it.

I'd highly recommend Classic Media's DVD set. It has 7 films in it, all of them have both the English and Japanese audio, and 6 of them are among the best of the series (though Godzilla's Revenge is one of the worst), and it's only about 21 bucks on amazon. Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla (the 74 one) is probably my…
Femme Fatale is up there with his best, IMO. Carlito's Way, Mission Impossible, and even Raising Cain definitely have their moments, too. His post 1987 work is obviously nowhere close to his run from the mid 70s through the mid 80s, but he definitely shouldn't have stopped making movies.
I regularly think and laugh about one of those "bootleg" albums Pearl Jam released circa 2000 that had a rendition of that song where Eddie Vedder changed the lyric to "I am the first man to shit my pants." I am 6 years old.
I agree with what you said, but also think that part of my issue is that Lena Dunham seems just as insufferable as the character in person. There was some roundtable interview last year with Kate McKinnon, Amy Schumer, Ellie Kemper, Gina Rodriguez, Tracee Ellis Ross, and her, and every time anyone else managed to say…
Haha, it's not even like that, it's more equivalent to a "spoiler" like "HAN IS IN THIS MOVIE"
As soon as you actually see the first episode and see how it's deployed, you will realize you are freaking out for no reason.
It is way less of a spoiler than that hypothetical situation would be, cause that was actually a big surprise that the whole episode built up to, while this is was like, opening credits of the first episode!
It's not like that at all, since it's the entire premise of the season. It's not a spoiler unless you hadn't watched the first three seasons, as it's practically the first thing that happens in the first episode this season. Jeez. It's not a big end-of-episode revelation or anything, it's a spoiler on the level of…
He DOES have a punchline if you watch the video that's a preview of. I think it's better without it, though.
Haha, Kaiden. He always died in my ME1 playthroughs until I finally remembered I needed to choose him to see what happened if he was alive. It was unfortunate, cause I think he was a more interesting character in 3 than Ashley was (the character you got instead of him in 1).
Maybe. I dunno. I believed it instantly when I heard about Klaus Kinski and some of the other non-convicted rumors out there, but I sort of doubt Woody Allen. He's definitely creepy, either way.
Hey, fair enough. I misread the tone of your post. I apologize.
Hmm, the use of that word wasn't meant to imply she was older. You're right to be offended by that. For the 90th time, Polanski belongs in jail. You can stop all the outrage. I just am tired of everyone glossing over all this to get on the Polanski soap box. Salva should not be working.
and this kid was 6 when it began. I have said REPEATEDLY that polanski belongs in jail too, the problem I have with this thread is everyone going "who cares about this when Polanski is out there."
You've never heard of a pedophile that didn't re-offend upon getting out of jail? I would think that would be "most of them." If you mean "they lose urges," then yeah, you're probably right there. I don't know how it works.
Well, knock it off! Brian Yuzna is awesome.
So basically you came in here and said "hey, who cares about this, Roman Polanski raped someone," totally dismissing all the crimes of this freak to make some stupid point about how rapists get away with it in Hollywood, and then when called on it, you say "oh, I'm morally superior, because I consider all rapists…
"widely speculated" = just as bad as a guy who most definitely did rape a child multiple times and even made a movie about it in your book, apparently?
Straight On Till Morning is a strange choice. It certainly is bold, I'll give it that. I still have that creepy theme song stuck in my head even several months after watching it. I'd be very curious to hear your reasons for considering it their best. It seems to generally be disregarded. I thought it was really,…
