It would be VERY Legends of Sara if she mentioned a lot of adventures they’ve been on since then that would be a whole bunch of big budget cgi nonsense that we’d never be able to see.

One thing they definitely got right with Buffy all those decades ago was to wrap up each season in the final episode in most cases and when they sort of didn’t, it’s because they knew they had a guaranteed renewal for another season.
The CW chose to be on the wrong side of history. LOT at least deserves a wrap-up mini-series/movie like Farscape since it was cancelled on a huge cliffhanger. Come on, HBO Max!
The casting on Seinfeld was just brilliant. All four of the parents were veterans of all kinds of comedies, yet they all “got” the tone of Seinfeld. Their performances totally fit in with the show from the beginning. Real pros. It’s sad they’re all gone now.
Most importantly, The Flash will be returning for season nine ...
Doesn’t look low budget at all? And the effects fit that Scott Pilgrim aesthetic.
What we saw. We have no idea what she did in the 5 years. She eventually returned to space to keep the peace there but who knows how long she spent on Earth after they killed Thanos in the beginning of Endgame.
I wish I didn’t cancel Netflix when the rates went up so I could cancel them again over this. Their business model has gotten to where you can’t have a nice little show like this, it has to be a major international hit or it gets dropped.
I second the praise for the Supergirl reviews, too! I loved your writing on that series, as well.
I will miss your work and I will miss this series. Best of luck in all your future endeavors!
Just wanted to pop in here and say thank you again to everyone who’s read and commented on these columns over the years! You’re a very smart, insightful, funny bunch and it’s been so nice to share a little rom-com corner of the internet with you all over the years.
Thanks for keeping this going for so long and at a consistently great level of analysis, criticism and advocacy. I’ve found movies — or more often, given movies a shot I would not have otherwise — because of your writing on them. It’s been comforting to know that every Friday, either When Romance Met Comedy or one of…
I’ll always appreciate your film writing. Even when I disagree with your opinions, I can’t deny that you’ve given every film you watch a fair shot, and you bring the same critical, analytical eye to every movie. “C+” will always be a fun gag to me, but as far as I’m concerned, your writing deserves an A, and any…
Haven’t watched the second film since it I caught the opening-night midnight. So maybe it, too, is better than I remember. But without the revisit: Yeah, worst movie of the MCU, for sure.
Hey folks. I just wanted to drop in and say thank you to everyone here for all the kind words, and also for reading what I’ve written at The A.V. Club these past nine years. I know I wasn’t always the most consistent presence in the comments, even before the Kinja transition, but I dipped in fairly regularly, and for…
Sully’s a father figure in the games. It’s explained much later, how he met Nate who was just a kid then, and he knew his best days were behind him so he took him in. It’s simple, it serves the story for both of them. I can’t see a movie sequel undoing the damage, after a young-ish sully meeting teen Nate.
But that’s in no small part because audiences tastes changed more than the Academy; they in the past award many movies that were #1 or #2 biggest BO hit of the year: West Side Story (whose remake by Spielberg no less bombed), Bridge Over The River Kwai, The Godfather, Lawrence of Arabia, Ben-Hur, One Flew Over…
The fact that people care about celebrities is the reason the Academy Awards are broadcast in the first place. But there are always people that act like these awards should reflect popular opinion, for some reason. And I’m not saying the Academy is blameless in this; the “Nominated for X number of Academy Awards” is…
It’s quite the blessing, isn’t it? She was literally flirting with Ryan Reynolds just a day ago. Smart and funny as hell right until the very end.
her agent and close friend Jeff Witjas tells PEOPLE in a statement on Friday. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”
