Depending on how you do it it might not be that difficult to do a food tour of the US, or at least if you didn't try to do it all in one trip. There's a lot of variation, especially when it comes to cities, but there really are some pretty distinct food traditions and it wouldn't be too hard to hit each of them.

Anyone who says, "I don't like American food" is a clearly ignorant know nothing asshole.

In August, some friends and I are road-tripping from Chicago to Cape Girardeau to see the total solar eclipse. We're stopping in St. Louis and have already planned out where to eat — Gioia's Deli and Ted Drewes Frozen Custard. Also on our itinerary are the Arch and City Museum.
