I just re-watched this scene for the first time in years and could not believe how punishing it was on those kids. I was 14 when JP came out and couldn't really identify with those kids. But now? Jesus, that's terrifying.

Definitely could be that, but I also think his line "I physically can't." was a reference to the sexy time scene in The Incredible Hulk, where he can't get it on without Hulking out. But then again, there are ways around that these days.

To be fair, Captain America has ridden a motorcycle in each MCU movie he's appeared in. Not defending the change, just pointing out why he's the most likely candidate for the swap out.
