That’s a bummer. I love games where you get to be the monster and there's just not that many around these days. I really hope whatever they are working on instead is something interesting and not just a battle royal, moba, or hero shooter.

I actually loved that. Encountering an enemy for the first time and being surprised by what it could do was generally the only time I really lost troops.
As someone who didn't play the original, I hated this whole chapter. It honestly killed most of my enthusiasm for the game.
And console players get shafted by xcom yet again...
I’d have to say I am most thankful for Age of Wonders: Planetfall. I am a big fan of 4x games and my favorite has been the Age of Wonders series. I really enjoy the mix of tactical combat and strategic empire building. When Triumph Studios announced that the next chapter in the franchise would shift the game from its…
Shhhhhh! Do you know what will happen to a games journalist who writes something about a Zelda game that is less than jubilant praise?
Wow! I thought I was the only person left who doesn't want to watch other people play video games.
I really like anthem. The core gameplay is fun but at this point in its lifecycle, its content is exhausted. I don’t understand why these games that expect you to play month after month only release with enough content for a few weeks. Why have character levels? You hit the level cap quickly and then they stop…
But by all means, let’s have crossplay!
It’s almost as if KOTAKU actively is trying to stop people from having fun with this game. “What do you want to do tonight, Brain?” “The same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to get people to stop playing Anthem!"
Yet another anthem take down piece. This vilification of a good game for criticism that can be leveled at virtually any game in the genre is getting real old. I don’t understand this agenda of trying to convince people that Anthem is bad. If it is so lousy, stop talking about it and write another article apex legends o…
Attempted assassination of anthem continues. “Anthem bricks consoles!”- Headline, “oh wait, anthem doesn’t brick consoles...”- buried halfway down the page.
Realistically, how impactful will this really be? A month in, everyone is going to be max level doing the same elder game content. My guess is that whatever Anthem’s equivalent of raids are, wont drop until after wide release anyway. This is the kind of game that’s supposed to be played month after month. In the life c…
Any word on if this is releasing simultaneously across consoles and pc?
What was the genre shift or difficulty spike in FFX?? The final boss/bosses were a cake walk. Yunalesca was way harder.
Xcom is my favorite example of this. From losing troops to outright failing the whole game. Every time you suffer a significant failure in xcom you feel it and it has lasting effects. I’ve died a hundred times in Bloodborne and no one death really stands out but I still remember that time my squad was wiped fighting t…
Still waiting for the patch to fix the “No Fuel in Hyperdrive” glitch. I’ve been stuck just joining other peoples games in order to visit new systems.
Now there’s a fun new glitch going around that tells you that you have no hyperdrive fuel no matter how full it is, thus disabling your ability to warp to new systems. Enjoying getting back into NMS but this bug is pretty infuriating.
Personally, guerilla was the disappointing sequel for me. The first 2 games had such tight combat, made all the more interesting by the amazing geomod technology. They traded that in for a soulless third person sandbox. I guess that’s how fans of guerilla felt when Armageddon came out. Come on developers, dance with…
FFX... I cry every time.
