112 stars to a comment calling a 6 year old black girl a monster. Tell me again that Jezebel readers didn’t vote for Trump. White women are monsters.

In the backdrop of American history, OJ Simpson represented every Black man who’d ever been lynched by the mob, or lynched by the State because a white woman said she was afraid of him. In the backdrop of American history, Nicole Brown represented every one of those white women.

You’re supposed to hold the pen with 2 fingers?

And again, Iris didn’t crack it on her own. She was the last lap in a relay race. Harry thought of the Speed Force. Jesse/Jay thought of Lightning. Barry told Iris all the ideas they had come up with, and Iris had the one piece of the puzzle that no-one but her and Cisco knew (Caitlin doesn’t count because she wasn’t

Iris only cracked it, because Barry told her the idea that Jay had, and she filled in the gaps that he couldn’t because of exhaustion and panic. Cisco had a few seconds in Flashtime and he used his Vibe powers, not his brains. Similarly, Killer Frost (not Caitlin) also tried her powers. Jay and Harry laid most of the

Adenuga was hand-in-glove with dear old Babangida, one of our military dictators and kleptocrat extraordinaire. A lot of people feel that his companies and the bulk of his wealth is really Babangida’s, being kept ‘in trust’ for the other man.

Boko Haram didn’t exist before Obama. #justsaying. The only person/people responsible for Boko Haram are the people and government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which last time I checked, was still an independent country and neither colony nor vassal of the United State or Britain.

By the way, I want to say, all the people that come up to me on the street and say they went to law school because of that character.

There’s still Achebe. Nigerians will love that. :D

Wakanda is a monarchy. There is only one way to change the monarchy. For your peace of mind, this IS progressive in that the opportunity is open for challenge and couple is not required.

Well he’s right if you think of Africa as a monolith - but Africans don’t think of Africa as a monolith. Heck, every African state, artificially created to align with European trade interests - don’t even think of its own members as a monolith.

I’m sure I’ve read somewhere that this tends to happen a lot with Black actors.

That was GRRM, not these guys. If you want to judge them - and not just their ability to adapt existing material - base it on GOT seasons 6 and beyond.

Completely agree. I was surprised by that commentary. Even besides the anecdotal evidence, he planned a 3 hour video. That’s an entirely different concept from being unable to make quick decisions.

^^^ THIS.

I honestly don’t know why George insisted on writing and directing these movies himself. Like he’s a great story-teller. He’s an amazing story-teller, even. But writing and directing are - to put it kindly - not his strengths.

They just happen to also enjoy other types of films, too.

They should have made a sequel 20+ years into the future where Jack-Jack was the villain. :P

That’s the wrong metric. What you need to do is compare the top-critically-rated movies versus Box Office ranking.

Seriously. The critics’s backlash also had the opposite effect on me and I watched it just to see what the big deal was about and I actually really enjoyed it.
