Are we forgetting that Jürgen got a pass last week? He underperformed Lizzie in every challenge but somehow he gets into the semifinal round?

The technical round has always been a bit of a head scratcher for me. A poor technical has never been enough to send home an otherwise strong contender, and a great showing never truly evens the score. It only seems to count if it confirms something about the rest of somebody’s performance.

I was going to feel bad about whoever went home! This season has had the biggest number of bakers I liked in the tent, I think.

She also recalls that, for Spider-Man, a producer took her to the dentist without her consent in order to fix her teeth. He drove her there without telling her what was going on, and she realized what was happening when they arrived.”

What, and it’s impossible to stress this enough, the fuck.

Granted they are all amateurs and not expected to achieve the same level of technical perfection as professionals, but Paul complaining about Giuseppe’s showstopper decoration while Jurgen’s got praised as if it were faultless seemed kinda biased.

I felt for you when Lizzie got eliminated, Allison. She did great this week. It should have been Mr. Floor-pastry Jurgen leaving this week, but Paul clearly couldn’t even conceive of it.

I will miss Lizzie deeply but that was an impressive cake on which to make an exit, the colors and construction were splendiferous and gigante! I would rather her do that than stay another week and possibly fail during Patisserie Week. Robicelli, I understand you are awestruck by that adorbs Clark Chigs Kent in his

Dude, let us enjoy this for just like...a minute.

I can’t believe he 5s rule’d it. That was completely disgusting. They should have judged the look and that’s it. I can’t believe the producers allowed that.

Yeah, anyone that’s worked in a decent kitchen knows there’s no 5 second rule. Food on floor goes in bin. Jurgen had been walking in the space where the food fell so the floor wasn’t clean. Him still being allowed to plate up was just wrong.

My choice for ugly Christmas sweater.

Their decision making makes no sense. Crystelle knocked it out of the park on the 1st and 3rd challenge. Any other challenge when men are in the lead after the 1st challenge and kill the 3rd, the judges have no problem ignoring the technical results, but somehow she managed to be in danger. Jurgen should have been

I would definitely have sent Jurgen home, the fact that he’s done well so far shouldn’t matter,  this was easily his worst week. And his first two bakes were worse than Lizze’s,  even if they really liked his showstopper.

I genuinely love that Lizzie got a tattoo that says Finesse, and her and Freya are now BFFs. They seem so opposite but such nice people.

I really find the ugly Christmas sweater phenomenon dispiriting. It was funny for a hot minute as a party idea, based on the notion that many of us had mothers/aunts/grandmothers that gifted us something made with far more love than good taste. But now it has become just another marketing opportunity, a chance to sell

So glad to see an actress resisting the industry pressures to keep working, and instead rely on medical wisdom to care for her body. Now to take a gigantic sip of coffee as I google this rising star

I know it’s the format of the website, but it’s always very strange to me that these episodes get individual letter grades, and many of them are strangely harsh. What exactly is being graded? The contestants’ performance?

Making any kind of candy in that humidity is a feat in itself. Am already involved with these people, hard to say goodbye. George had some small triumphs, yet he has struggled greatly in the last couple of weeks, and his elimination was the right decision. I could hang with Lizzie, her Chin-Up! demeanor and humor

But you do adjudicate other people’s lives through sound bites on social media. Got it.
