Thank you. It’s reaching 6 weeks for me. This is the longest I’ve been unemployed since graduating college 12 years ago, and I hate it. I have a mortgage, and pets that need food. My old job paid little and had few benefits, but I liked what I did and got by on the income.

The Moral Monday protests at the Capitol building had good momentum for a while but that seems to have faded. I don’t know if people think it’s all ok now Cooper’s in office, or they’re simply fatigued and gave up for now.
I am one of those 7% who vote in every single local election. I canvass. I volunteer. I write letters and emails, and I protest.
Yeah, it’s just going to be extremely difficult with the Republican majority. Hopefully the mandated election actually takes place this spring.
Gov. Cooper is trying to overturn HB2, which is a fairly unpopular bill among us regular people in NC. The problem is the blatant obstruction from the same Republicans that attempted a coup when Their Boy McCrory lost his re-election campaign. I just hope people remember this in 2018.
