When asking someone to fork over thousands of their hard-earned dollars I’d expect the seller to take the time and $3.25 in quarters to vacuum the floorboard and maybe go all out and spend a little extra to clean the engine compartment. This lack of detail makes me wonder how well the mechanics have been care for.

Damn, somebody took the show car out for a little spin.

No way Jose, or should I say Jeeves? Often a cars cosmetic appearance is a good indicator of its mechanical condition- if the owner didn't take the time and spend the money to maintain the appearance of a car (or have it done) then you can only imagine how proper service and maintenance were neglected and on a car as

So it's got to have automatic lights, lumbar support, a cup holder and parking sensors - fancy!

This looks 2 sizes too large and droopy - but that seems to be the trend in car design, try to impress with a "grand entrance" then the rest is out of proportion and incongruent. Kind of like the McMansion's in the 'burbs, a big two story entrance and that's it, nothing behind the facade.

Is that a freaking horn ring? Like "oh look at this awesome 1967 Chrysler Newport with a horn ring, horn ring?"

Let's see a pseudo SUV based on an existing economy sedan- I've heard this before- Got it! Dodge Caliber 2.0.

It's an S Class Brougham d'Elegance!

I have seen a few of these up close and personal and the coach work is very impressive. In my opinion these Castilian's are amazing beasts of burden that only could have existed in the weird and wondrous 1970's.

So following that train of thought - this is undoubtedly the safest road.

It's like 1967 all over again.

Really good observation.I totally agree, it seems certain items that are stereotypical "displays of wealth" have become caricatures of themselves. Subtly and economy of adornment used to be the hallmarks of very high-end products but that practice has often been replaced with gaudy enhancement.

I'm going to need electrified door handles and rocker-mounted flame throwers - are those an option? It's nice to have entertainment whilst motoring among the hoi polloi.

I notice how they don't show how the Smart repels off the S Class after the initial impact like a ping-pong ball bouncing on a concrete floor.

A Lexus CT 200H is not a luxury car

Airbags were only offered on certain full-size Buick, Oldsmobile's, and Cadillac's in 1974, 1975 and 1976. There were a handful of 1973 Chevrolet's equipped with airbags as a test fleet - but not for retail sale. And it is a fact that the GM cars equipped with airbags only had lapbelts where the same car w/o airbags

As mentioned, GM did this in the early 70's , 1974 to be exact. The system would disable the ignition if the drivers seat belt was not buckled. It often failed to release the ignition even when the belt was buckled and the only way to override the system was to press a reset button located under the hood - a very

They should probably be running a fleet of Enclaves! Arguably, the first luxury SUV was a custom 1950 Buick Roadmaster made for the King Ranch

I have was given a new Taurus as a rental on a few occasions. It is a very large and tall sedan and those exterior dimensions imply an equally large and tall interior, which it does not have. The center console is extra wide, the doors and door panels seem extra thick and the space left for passengers is very tight.

Asshat? D-bag? Marketing Genius?
