The Taycan has a two speed transmission (on one axle) and the original Tesla roadster did. Specifically to provide better low end acceleration and high speed efficiency. So yes, there can be actual value provided with a transmission in an EV.

Definitely more justified than the Grand Wagoneer.

Judging by her husband’s car payment, he was going to be taken advantage of by the dealer just as much. Actually, I’m sure they were eager to get into those trucks at any cost and the salesman didn’t have to try at all.

Ask a local enthusiast forum for your type of car. Simply going to a “BMW specialist” got me burned. But asking a local BMW subreddit which to go to found me my favorite mechanic

$600M is a parking ticket for a company that big. It gives them permission to keep operating recklessly because the potential fine is so small it doesn’t make financial sense for them to operate safely.

Can anyone shed light on MODERN, AUTOMATIC subarus? They ALL have CVTs, and there have been several lawsuits against the Ascent for premature failure. But I’m unsure if this also impacts less powerful and heavy Subarus (whomever put a CVT in a giant SUV is asking for trouble

You conveniently forgot to mention if he’s eligible for those upgrades based on status. If so, there’s nothing wrong with this. I’m a NYer who hates Adams, but this is just cheap “journalism” and not even aviation related.

Just saw a new Yaris cross SUV today in Italy. That is a car I’m shocked is NOT for sale in the US. Especially as a hybrid

Only by restoring this Lagonda to its former glory may the curse be broken, so that Princess Kate will awake from her long slumber.

Put it in some gross, underused, industrial harbor in Brooklyn. Turn it into a vintage hotel and museum and watch it gentrify the nearby industrial park in months

I lived on a street that was changed from 4 lanes to two lanes and two separated bikes lanes in western Chicago. The bike lane became the hub of the neighborhood over 5 years or so. Most restaurants, cafes, stores were all along the bike thoroughfares. Before the modernization, few business were along the same

Mercedes products are truly the most unreliable German brand. My parents and siblings have recently owned a Porsche Panamera, two X5s, an X7, an Audi RS7, and a Mercedes GLS550.

My 2011 535i is at 160k miles and has been as reliable as a Camry, and not a single squeak or rattle inside.

Shhhh don’t tell people! This was a fun secret for those of us who have owned modern BMWs and know how well built they are.

I can promise there were hotel rooms, just not ones in the United network that they have discount rates for. He could have booked one himself and demanded United pay it back, or use his credit card’s flight delay insurance to cover it (if he had a good travel card).

I imagine people from CT driving down to NYC for a night out on the town and trying to get home. That Uber would be hundreds of dollars and Metro North stops running at 2AM

The M5, RS7, S63 and a few other major players will still be V8 sedans, but it will definitely be the only NA V8 on the market in the US. That alone is a feat.

You’d be able to do the DC - Charlotte drive with just one charge. A little longer, but a lot cheaper. So it should come down to whichever car you like better. The Prius will hold its value better, cheaper to service, more reliable. The Polestar will be more luxurious and fun. I’d pick based on your priorities beyond

I watched a video this week about a car that screamed ‘reliablility nightmare’ to me and I could not remember which one it was. This was it! I will also nominate the upcoming C63 AMG which has the same engine, boosted even more, with a PHEV battery. Nightmare package.

Sounds like you should buy a 4Runner or Chevy Express before they’re gone!
