The “sunken cost fallacy” (sorry for the pun) says the best outcome for the environment is to recycle it now. The damage of building it has been done, but decades of this monstrosity operating would likely be exponentially worse for the environment. It’s also not likecruises serve any real useful purpose

No. I’m tall and moderately well built. The G70 was cramped and I had the seat all the way back, touching the seat behind it. I wanted to love it, but it was too small.

Lexus ES Hybrid. Over 50 MPG, super roomy interior, amazing seats, excellent reliability and supreme comfort for highway drives. Plus all the luxury bells and whistles.

For me it just looks too awkward. While none of these luxury behemoths are shapely, at least the Escalade commands attention and the Navigator actually looks elegant and stately. This just looks... Like a Jeep grand Cherokee in front and a box truck in back.

100% was a trade-in. Carmax wouldn’t sell a car that old. Meaning some car enthusiast probably passed away and their non-car-enthusiast family wanted to sell it ASAP - hence Carmax.

I had the same thought. My 2011 BMW has 150k miles on it and general runs perfectly. But a $300 repair last month and a new set of tires in Feb at $800 had me wondering if it’s worth keeping.

You have a fairly new car with a brand new drivetrain. Getting that today would cost you $20k at least. Just get a cheap Maaco respray, vinyl wrap or redo the clear coat yourself. All are dramatically cheaper than a new car

Gotcha. Thanks! And I imagine the transverse V6 is going to go extinct at those manufacturers soon (if it isn’t already), as almost all FWD-based V6 vehicles will be downsizing to 4 and 3 cylinders. That means 6 cylinders will be reserved for larger, longitudinal vehicles that can fit an I6 no problem.

We love to see it. Is there any reason why I6 engines are making a big comeback in the day of downsizing and electrification? I’ve always driven I6 BMWs and love the refinement and feel, but it’s an unusual engine configuration.

Usually these people are comparing another luxury car to an EV. Like a new BMW i4 buyer isn’t going to be cross shopping a $4k used suburban. They’re probably upgraded their leased 4 series for a new car and are torn between an i4 and a 4 series.

Seatbelt interlock will likely become required and I’m fine with that.
