First gen Charger were ubiquitous, but are now quite hard to find. If the engine didn't die first, the interiors basically decomposed after 7 years.

I’ve owned high mileage German luxury sports sedans since I was in high school. I’m used to every little sound being indicative of a major repair that will cost me 4 figures to fix. When I bought a high mileage FJ100 Land Cruiser, I heard a weird grinding sound at speed and assumed the worst... Turns out the heat…
This happened with MH17 was shot down over Ukraine in 2014, after Russias goons mistook it for a drone. I don't see why it couldn't happen again here.
I live in Chicago and have a car purely for pleasure, though I commute exclusively by train or bicycle. I get around my city 90% with those two options, saving my car for joyrides when there’s no traffic, runs to Costco or visiting areas difficult to reach by transit on the weekends. It’s nice. I don’t have to sit in…
Ghosn should be charged with murder for destroying everything decent and interesting about Nissan
Every Fusión comes with a few thousand worth of incentives and markdown, and the Energi has even more. A friend asked me which mid-size sedan she should buy. I recommended the Mazda6 and Accord. She liked them a lot, but saw that a Fusion was several thousand cheaper out the door with more equipment. She picked up a…
In other markets, the small Mercedes Metris is sold as a Sprinter model. Got it covered
I see a lot of Mexican plated vehicles in Texas. On the streets of Dallas this year I’ve seen:
If you look at current markets for 100 series Land Cruisers and LXs, yours is probably worth around $20k in good condition. A 2005 Range Rover would be worth about $7k in similar condition and mileage.
It’s also a cheap and simple Toyota, so 200k miles isn’t a worry. Now 200k on a Dodge Avenger...
The most reliable vehicle I ever owned was a 2000 Land Cruiser I bought with 170k miles. It was by no means in great condition, but it never gave any issues except a small fuel line leak that was fixed for under $100. Utterly bulletproof. Least reliable is a 2007 Audi A6 4.2 I bought with 90k miles. Significantly more…
Yeah and my mom’s brand new 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland Summit 5.7 was constantly in the shop. The air suspension was repaid a half dozen times by the time she sold it at 30k miles, when the radiant blew and left her stranded. There are anecdotes for every car, good and bad. Anecdotes aren’t data.
Mileage should be tied to brand as well. A 100k mile Lexus or Honda will be a safer bet than an 50k mile Jaguar or Dodge Dart. They will likely be in better condition because they’re constructed better. And consequently they will cost a lot more.
I like it. It seems like a pleasant place to be. I often get chauffeured for work, and 80% of they time I’m sent a Suburban or Navigator for myself. Completely wasteful, and it’s not even that comfortable. I’m not sure why people think it’s luxurious to sit on a leather bench seat in rhe back of a giant SUV, which…
God, you just listed every reason we decided not to have children and get a cat instead. That, and the massive environmental impact every new child takes on the world and the fact that they will NEVER leave you alone.
Yes, yes it is legal for manufacturers to drive prototypes on the road, but you already knew that. Also this is the new Escalade, testing in Chicago last night
I disagree. A turbo-4 Camaro or Mustang is a genuinely quick and fun to drive car. If you put a 150 hp four cylinder from the Cruze or Focus in there (objectively cheaper to run), you wouldn’t get the level of sales.
As a common car service user, I prefer the Town Car over the ubiquitous Yukons and Suburbans, simply because there isn’t much legroom in those. However I much prefer a more modern vehicle, like a Lexus ES or Avalon over a Town car. And with the awful fuel economy, it’s time has come and gone. A Hybrid Avalon will…
Any more details on call quality? I have tried several buds with great audio quality but garbage call quality... and the AirPods, which are excellent on calls and mediocre on audio. I desperately want something that can do both
A bit disappointing balance between performance and fuel economy, getting neither one right. Similar fuel economy to the 2011 535i, which of course had much more power from a turbo 6 cylinder and RWD/AWD. I guess this may have some advantage over the Stinger in badge only. I’m sure there are a lot of people who still…
