Alfa 4c coupe or Giulia Ti Sport. There are loads of both for under $50k with low miles.

I’ve hated on Camry styling for generations. This actually looks good. The rear 3/4 proportions are very attractive on the XSE. Athletic without a needlessly compromised "coupe-like" roofline. The front is too busy but it's not heinous. I think it's much better than the current Altima.

There’s something heartwarming about the Camry gaining a bit of soul and driving excitement.

I firmly believe an M car is meant to be driven. Period. On tracks, on roadtrips, to work and on winding backroads. I was lucky enough to do all 4 in mine when I had it

In May 2016 I took a 10,000 mile roadtrip across the USA in a 2001 E39 M5 with 150k miles on it. Besides an oil and coolant change and throwing a spare tire and jack in the trunk, the M5 had no preparation.

For $11k, get this lightly used Saab 9-3X and embrace the aviator spirit

Or consider the also excellent XC40 which starts at $33k and should have more headroom. It gets the Doug DeMuro approval, and he’s 6'4"

Second option if the new S60 is too small. The phenomenal XC40 starts at $33k, has plenty of space and is both practical, efficient, stylish, weird, and super comfy. It will definitely have enough space for you, based on 6'4" Doug DeMuro’s review of this. Plus it gets his seal of approval - which is nearly impossible

The 2019 S60 starts right at $35k... If you can wait a couple of weeks for them to hit the showroom. You could get it down to under $35k for a “base” model lease - which is still supremely more comfortable, well equipped and luxurious than a loaded up Hyundai.

It’s a bit boring on the outside and a bit too cluttered in the inside. Shame because I had big hopes for this generation of ML

It the era of crossover apocalypse, I actually think we should be excited for cars like this X2. It’s literally a tall hot hatch. Like a GTI Alltrac. The only reason this car exists is to offer a more nimble, sporty and “interesting” looking alternative to the homely and utilitarian X1. It shows that the future of

If the G70 drives as well as the magazines are saying, my next car will be a 2.0T 6MT. I’m really liking the idea of German dynamics and Hyundai reliability - which is apparently a thing now.

2012 is even generous.

It's required to run US license plates in the EU

I detest cab forward design. But interesting to see that’s its part of the I-pace. I thought this car was so close to being sexy, but there was something off about it proportionally. Thank you for pointing out what it was.

I agree with you that Mercedes is a cluster fuck and one of the worst offenders. I’ve rented two 2018 C classes (one with the dinky little screen and one with the wide-screen) and there is no logic or pattern to the navigation. Really an awful system. Aesthetically I actually like Audis new MMI, but it can be a maze

And that’s why Crossovers are taking over the world. They’re very much in fashion.

I rented a new Q60 3.0T AWD premium a few weeks ago. I enjoyed driving the car, although it was slower than 300 hp feels like and the steering had no feel.

Is a 3.0t SQ5 cooler than a 3.0t S4? Nope. Is it faster? Nope. Is it more expensive? Yes. Does it handle worse? Yes. Is fuel economy worse? Yes. Does it look worse? Well it’s subjective but the S4 is a handsome beast and the Q5 is just average looking even compared to other luxury CUVs.

Yeah its a mediocre car, but its not meh. The entire premise of Meh is being totally and violently forgettable. Chryler Aspen, Hyundai Veracruz, Triumph Acclaim. All utter forgettable cars, barely clinging to the edge of the collective human consciousness thanks to some Wikipedia pages.
