Wow, I used to buy and sell cars off Craigslist all the time. This is scary. He was just another college kid doing what we do to get by and some psycho decides his life is worth a couple of grand. What a completely fucked society we live in.

You've obviously never driven the autobahn. It's not well maintained. It's narrow, usually no shoulder to speak of and the pavement is often much rougher than in the US. The Italian Autostrada and Spanish highways are impeccably well maintained... But then again Germany didn't suffer from the construction boom and…
350z. After growing up thinking these cars were the absolute shit, I was severely disappointed when I finally got to drive one last year.
It took me a second but then I swallowed my gum laughing. Your wit has pleased my dorky sense of humour.
Touché.
I bought my E39 M5 for $10k. With $5k, I could add an ESS supercharger and taller rear diff. I think that could touch 200
Not many mountains in the ocean. If it crossed habited land without permission or tracking, I'm sure some military would've picked it up.

Here's why its not monstrous to charge more during a blizzard:
A normal BMW is expensive to maintain. The E60 M5 and E63 M6 are 100% impossible to maintain. It just won't happen.
A new Corolla. Plus extended warranty. Under $20k... Silly question.
I have a buddy who's color blind. He gets stopped for questionable drunk driving because he can't tell the difference between red and yellow and stops anyway.
I've conquered more intense terrain with a rented Astra one time. I don't know why they make such lame ass "demonstrations" that barely even get the truck sweating.
"Towed at owner's expense".
Believe it or not, a girl in my high school had one of these. Her grandpa bought it, died 5 years later and grandma never drove it once. A few years later, Alexa turns 16 and her grandma asks if she wants the convertible or an SUV (Envoy Denali). So this lucky brat had a low-mileage Sl55 as her first car. And this is…
Budget allocation:
Most people don't realize the S class we get in the US is actually an extended version. Europe gets a shorter version that's more appropriate for cities and individual drivers. If you typically have a chauffeur, then you buy the extended version. (at least this is how it was for the last S-class).
