Why doesn't Nissan just modify some Dacias? They've done the inexpensive car thing really well. And Nissan shares technology and platforms with Renault, who makes Dacia. Maybe that's what Datsun is... I have no idea. Why do I care? Why am I commenting? I can't see my reflection. Am I real?

Here's why its not monstrous to charge more during a blizzard:

A normal BMW is expensive to maintain. The E60 M5 and E63 M6 are 100% impossible to maintain. It just won't happen.

Budget allocation:

Most people don't realize the S class we get in the US is actually an extended version. Europe gets a shorter version that's more appropriate for cities and individual drivers. If you typically have a chauffeur, then you buy the extended version. (at least this is how it was for the last S-class).

Before anyone else criticizes the decision to pay A&M for this barrier, it's a bit more intricate than it looks. The size, shape and most importantly the height is designed to stop a big truck. There are much dumber things the US gov't funds that you should make fun of instead.

8 months ago I bought an E39 M5 with 134k miles. At 145k, it hasn't had any issues yet.

Wrong year. 2000 had the pre-facelifted headlights, taillights, and nav system. Also a carbon buildup issue solved in '01
