I love Animal Crossing (been playing since the 2002 Gamecube debut) but I agree with you - this article describes game tactics that, for ME, make it sound a joyless and perfunctory game. Not knocking that approach at all, because clearly min/max types LOVE this game, but if you take the opposite approach (no

For me it’s a relaxing game you plunk away at over a long period of time, just sort of enjoying the moments as they come; the writing is fun, the characters are charming, seasonal events are interesting etc. All of this loans and stocks and stuff is completely optional background content for me.

She’s a child in quarantine, she's already getting denied access to friends, let her have some happiness.

Caution is never a bad option with games purchases, but it’s $9.99. I’d pay ten bucks for a slightly better than average mobile game based on X-Com, so I’m going to go ahead and be part of the first wave.

Or it could just be an experimental, smaller scale/smaller budget/much smaller priced fun little piece of side content put together by a small team to give fans something while waiting for XCOM 3.

It’s $10, maybe don’t overthink it so much.

I feel a lot of X-COM: Apocalypse in the DNA of this, and since that’s my favorite old-school XCOM, I’m on board.

This nailed it for me

Same, didn’t look interesting at all. Looked goofy, childish and shallow.

It’s just a nice relaxing game that happened to come out at a stressful time when a lot of people didn’t have much to do. It’s a vacation for everyone who can’t go on a vacation, which happens to be basically everybody right now. The multiplayer works just enough to let people get together virtually.

Tree Branches are infinite, you can just keep shaking the same tree and eventually more will come out, unless there is no place for them to drop, in which case you can pick up the ones you have and keep shaking for more.

Fruit trees take 3 days to regrow their fruit. I know this might seem obvious but I know a lot of

Hell yeah, my dude is gonna be pretty af.

Are they going to stuff this game with Fire Emblem characters, too?

Says you, meanwhile my wife is hype af for Animal Crossing details.

Oddly enough he sold it back to gamestop for $13 in store credit.

And Fallen order was a reskin of a slightly more arcady Dark Souls 3 mixed with an extremely classic method of storytelling. I don’t think Jedi change too much to that particular problem.

I guess I’m forever doomed to mostly like the cool bits of the last Star Wars movie regardless of its problems, and then come online to some group swearing up and down that it was the absolute worst thing ever.

I posted this on io9, but I’m in the greys there, so, might as well post it here as well...

I own this on DVD and know I’ve watched it....and yet that plot synopsis didn’t ring any bells.  Must have been super memorable for me.
