I thought it was pretty accepted that when super rich people have charities, those are usually just a way for them to funnel money back into their other enterprises. Twas ever thus.

In 2015, when Trump launched his campaign with racist language about Mexican rapists, the Republican establishment and right-wing media including Fox News, was against Trump. But the Republican base cheered and we know what happened after.

Don’t get me wrong: I would love an inspiring white knight of a Democrat to emerge for 2024. But I absolutely do not think it’s necessary if Trump is the Republican nominee. If we get Trump/Biden 2.0, Biden has to be the odds-on favorite because, at this point, there simply aren’t that many people left to be won over…

If Trump lost in the primaries, I wouldn’t put it past him to run third-party out of spite & split the vote.

I would like to hope that this will create utter chaos for the GOP in the lead up to the next election, leaving them vulnerable at local and state levels and boosting Dem chances.
