Once upon a time, you only got ads on Hulu when you were watching shows that had aired that TV season. But Doctor Who from 2005 (or whatever) was ad-free. At one point I actually e-mailed Hulu and said “I’ll pay more to watch stuff that aired last night with no ads.” I figured they were putting ads where they did…
No cable here, but I do Hulu’s commerical free plan, Amazon Prime, Netflix AND MLB during the baseball season. Which is expensive as fuck ($20/month) but how else am I gonna watch my Giants when I no longer live in NoCal? And so long as I can afford it, I’m going to keep ALL THE STREAMING PACKAGES.
I opted for that and find it totally worth it. I read a thread above where people say they’re still getting ads but that hasn’t happened to me. $4<not watching the same fucking car commercial six times per episode of SG1. (Which I discovered last month. Why did no one tell me Daniel Jackson is so hot?)
