I noticed the same exact price increase. Craziness!

Well said, but this isn’t r/writingprompts 😉

On another note, can I just say that the price of vanilla is absurd? That is all.

It depends on your definition of “leading the industry.” They might take in the most revenues and profits, but very rarely do they “lead” in the sense of adopting or creating new technology first. There are countless examples: iPhone, USB, iPad, Apple Watch, Intel Chips, etc. There were all numerous

Seriously. And probably one who’s all of the above.

I’m sorry, but anyone who has kids and expects to have a 50/50 split is unfortunately naive. As a parent, you’re going to have to give 100%, 100% of the time. It’s the most exhausting thing I’ve ever done. Parenting ain’t for sissies. And as Claire Huxtable once said, “I can’t go on. I have nothing left to give.”

143,000???

I mean, I love it! But I get why something like LastPass is so attractive, especially to less technical folks. Cross platform, and automatic syncing. I got Keepass to work exactly how I want it to work, but it took some legwork on my behalf first. And KeepassX on Mac isn’t great. It’s serviceable, but not the most

So download it directly from the website instead. That doesn’t seem like an insurmountable problem :-)

... Or use keepass.

That may save you from unauthorized charges on your credit cards, but with all the information that was stolen, it’s entirely possible someon will open a *new* account in your name that you won’t know about.

I like oxiclean and baking soda.

With regard to not being too hard on yourself, I always look at job rejections as “interview practice”. I remind myself that “I made it through X rounds with this company, and it was all good practice answering whatever questions they asked me.”

But only at sea level. It won’t be 212 for our friends in Denver and higher altitudes. The better way, and the way recommended by Thermoworks, is to test it in an ice bath to make sure that it hits 32F/0C

Honest question: what is the advantage of cooking it in a pressure cooker first before searing? Wouldn’t it be easier (and less cleanup) to simply go straight to searing and pan frying?

The other one I remember from Katrina, primarily for people out of the area is to watch out for cars that were flooded and now sold on the cheap. You’ve gotta check for rust and water damage inside the car.

That’s awesome! As others commented, I’m sure the efficacy of this message is dependent on company culture, but I will totally use this one day.

Can we call you Wally?

There is if you’re on FMLA. If your boss is requiring you to answer emails while on leave, they can be found to have “interfered” with your leave. I worked with a company that disabled your AD account when you were on leave just to prevent this from happening.

If there’s “risk” in delegating, that’s a strong sign of poor leadership. An excellent leader will be sure that their directs are informed and empowered to carry on without them for the duration of their absence, whether for vacation, health reasons, or otherwise.
