Its more of constant mesh vs synchromesh. If you look inside a motorcycle transmission you’ll see gigantor dog teeth to grab to the sliding collars, because there is no synchro ring to match the speed of the gear to the speed of the sliding collar. I used to climb the cliffs overlooking this hairpin and I remember one time a early 2000s WRX with a really loud blow off valve did runs on that hairpin until they drove someone into the pull off zone on the side.
