Your name is Ben and my name is Ben and we both had dads with orange Saab Sonett III’s?!?! My dad gave me his when I was in high school and this is a photo of the actual car.

Hey guys! Shameless plug, here. We’re producing a lot of cool (and free!) automotive content on our YouTube channel. Barn Find Hunter and our engine time-lapse rebuild videos are quite entertaining. Check out Hagerty’s channel:

Agreed!!! So good! I remember watching this with my family as a kid. I can’t even count how many times I watched it. One of my all-time favorites. I don’t know how many times I would be wrestling with my brother and whoever was winning and holding the other one down would say, “WHERE IS THE ROCKET!” in our best Lothar

Makes it easier to win “Best in Class” awards from JD Power or whatever when you make up your own category and have the only car in it.

Get a Delica with a pop-top tent.

Came here to post this. Well done, sir.

Subaru, please just make a kick-ass AWD van and call it good. (With Westfalia pop-top camper version)

There’s no such thing as a single-purpose LEGO set. My kids, like their father, aunts and uncles before them, play with the assembled set for all of about a day before it get torn apart and built into whatever their creative little minds can think of. That’s the beauty of LEGO, a little creativity goes a long way.

There’s a documentary coming soon about what the original has been up to for the last 5o years:

Came here to post this. Clean ALL the snow off your vehicle.

I love Previas. Love them. But they have to be the All-Trac version. Not worth it, otherwise. (Note: I’ve lived in Colorado, Utah and Northern Michigan over the last 10 years. It snows a lot.)

Was doing donuts in the snow in an old VW Beetle last night!

A gentleman in Colorado actually purchased this car and is about halfway through restoring it. We (Hagerty) will do our best to do some sort of follow-up video on it once the restoration is complete.

A more aggressive cam helped, too!

That’s an EMPI logo. They make a ton of aftermarket VW parts.

Hey! You were right! It is a 1973. I don’t know why we didn’t run the VIN before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also have no idea why the DMV titled it as a 1972. Chalk that one up to government incompetence?

Thanks! Glad you like them. For the uninitiated, here’s a playlist of all our time-lapse engine rebuilds:

Haha. Well, you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes!

We didn’t have a choice. The old case was complete junk.

It’s a blast to drive! I relate it to driving a go-kart. Small and agile. Super fun for what it is. I got it up to 80mph the other day and it was still pulling!
