this was the first time I actually semi-believed Petra denying feelings for Jane-Jane. Jane’s reaction was hilarious though

One of the benefits of having a cast member of a long running show direct is their bind with their fellow actors. Both Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni got wonderful performances from the actors in their episodes as directors. Andrea Navedo rarely gets the dramatic stuff but did a great job.
Man I kept going from sobbing to laughing out loud every time the episode switched between Xo and Petra.
Anyone else feel like this has been the best season of the show since season 1? Just this consistent rush of building emotion and stakes, and characters going to new and interesting places. Also, so many callbacks to season 1 in the last few episodes, it feels like this series is speeding to an end game, even though…
This was a perfect episode. Xo’s storyline made me cry and I don’t remember the last time I laughed as hard as during those Petra-Rafael’s scenes. I don’t know how this show can be so consistently great in its 4th season but it’s definitely my favorite show right now. It even surpassed Crazy Ex-Girlfriend which was a…
I didn’t know Justin Baldoni directed this episode - it was very good. The absence of fantastical elements - except the magic VapoRub - helped to ground Xo’s storyline in reality so I can’t complain. And yeah I got teary eyed as well; everyone brought their acting game in this ep, especially Andrea Navedo.
This show makes me cry like no other, my lord. No matter if the episode is more comedic/dramatic etc there’s always a scene or two (or whole episode, like this one) that wrecks me.
Petra’s mirror pep talk was so cute. Lovestruck Petra is just damn adorable. I really hope JR sticks around but I’m sure Rosario Dawson…
I ugly-cried through the whole damn thing.
I too thought that I hope this doesn’t turn into a Three’s Company situation.
I had a huge sigh of relief when it turned out they weren’t going to stretch the misunderstanding with Petra over the whole episode; it lasts exactly as long as it needs to before it would have started to get old.
No actual blood relation and Betty’s still under the Blossom curse.
I was in the middle of this episode thinking it really was time to throw in the towel on this show, but then Veronica started to get her comeuppance and Archie’s mother read him the riot act and I began to believe we’re meant to understand that he’s a terrible person. So that helped.
Definitely baffled at how they expect to redeem Archie and Veronica in all of this. Maybe that’s why they’re bringing in Sabrina, “Oh, it seems you were possessed. By really, really petty asshole demons.”
That link on “didn’t feel like she could say no to her parents” is some A+ shade.
Gothic heroine Cheryl is by far, the best kind of Cheryl. Have her committed is a very Blossom thing to do, but I agree, this show is not equipped to treat such a serious subject as conversion therapy.
It helps that FP and Jughead are around each other most of the time. Until he came back in the last episode when was the last time we saw Fred?
This season of Riverdale brought to you by our sponsors, Watch What Happens Live and Love, Simon.
FP and Jug getting along is nice. They’ve had some tumultuous times this season but have come out strong. FP getting in Archie’s face might have been a little much but he was fired up. FP and Jug are able to stay on the same page more easily than Fred and Archie.
Josie McCoy finally did something?
