It hasn’t been confirmed that she’s going to play Rosa’s girlfriend as far as I know, just that she’s going to be ON B99. People are conflating it with an exchange Gina and Stephanie had agreeing with a fan that it’d be awesome if Gina played Rosa’s girlfriend.

Freudian slip! Whoops!

I don’t think she will. It looked very much like she was going to cheat on him, whcih I’m assuming is a mislead. Especially since the whole episode was about framing and how things aren’t what they appear to be.

True, it’s obviously due to her character being badly written and not having good development AT ALL!

Xo is with Ro not Raf (Rafael), fyi.

No?

Jane the Virgin/ B99 connections:

Oh I forgot about Lachlan. I don’t think he’s been seen after the time jump.

Seems like most of these headlines make it seem like the review will be awful but then the score says otherwise.

felt oddly unsatisfying. Jane had a nice job, but now she doesn’t, so that kind of sucks. Rafael was job hunting, and he’s still job hunting. Xo thought maybe she should be a student, but it sucked and now she’s going to do the same career wheel-spinning she was doing before. at least Petra found out her lawyer’s

I was disappointed that Zari was put off to the sidelines after the great focus on her last episode. When will she be involved in the time travel shenanigans again?

I was really bothered by what happened with Ray at the end of the episode. I usually advocate for watching Arrowverse shows for the characters (all great) over plot (often clunky). But Ray walking in and handing himself over to DD for zero reason really got to me.

Don’t know if it’s been stated but the newscaster is Amanda Davis. She was a morning anchor for Channel 46 in Atlanta and she died in December. Weird seeing her pop up as a newscaster posthumously.

The Black Lightning writers (who I hope are not in LA) are falling into the same traps as the other superhero shows. This was indeed a formulaic episode, but about half the plot just disappointed me since this show pegged itself to be different than the conventional superhero faire we got.

More thoughts to Dr. Schroedinger, whom (as with the Schroedinger family) I hope is still alive.

I don’t mind the gambi secrets. Unlike arrow or flash, this isn’t a case where the audience knows something as fact and has to watch characters lie to each other for no reason. We are nearly as in the dark about him as BL seems to be, which comes across as more intriguing than frustrating to me

I thought the whole stuff with the statue, and the girl who got run down and murdered, happened too quickly, with little to no buildup. This show otherwise does a good job of giving gravity to the stakes but “oh, here’s this racist statue and BLAM a protester was murdered” was handled as an almost throwaway d-plot

I’m just hoping that the doctor who’s unwillingly treating Tobias’ albinism will be okay, along with his family.

I’m not really a fan of Anissa’s gasp-yell she does whenever she activates her powers. I’m glad that her and Jefferson finally know about each other.
