The writing was never great. The show was almost great in spite of the bad writing, and in spite of the very confusing (for those unfamiliar with the lore) first season time-jumps. That a show could be promising despite major flaws in plot direction and writing demonstrates that there was definitely some magic there,

So once again, blaming your audience rather than blaming what actually is the problem: Poor writing

It mostly played itself. Every once in a while you’d switch paradigms. It was terrible.

I guess I was one of the most dejected players, because FF XIII’s battle system definitely did not carry me through.

Wayyyy too much credit was given to XIII. That was the only FF game which I got frustrated, quit, and threw the game away out of spite.

One of my favorite things to do is find articles about entertainment products that bore me and make a comment about how I don’t enjoy them. They aren’t products that make me mad, or that I think are ethically problematic in some way. They’re just things that don’t personally appeal to me, and I need to make sure that

It’s like, five idiots on Reddit.

It sounds like in this case though most people found the oiling system cumbersome and annoying so it was probably a good change.

*boots up The Witcher 3*

I have grown completely dead to the cries of “MUH EMMERSIOOOONN!!!”. They cry because having auto oil breaks immersion, but act like having to stop go through 2 menu screens and dig through a horribly sorted inventory screen (that you have no control over) to find the correct oil doesn’t immediately take you out of

Great comment, thanks for contributing.

Fallen Order was pretty indisputably a Metroidvania, so... I... think he does?

I disagree that Lovecraft’s racism is rarely or briefly brought up. I recently got into reading Lovecraft through The Arkham Archivist free PDF of his works, and that includes a lengthy preamble about it. And looking up reviews/discussions of his works (even on places like REDDIT) they discuss his racism pretty

You can’t embrace Lovecraft or allow him among your circle though.

The difference is that Lovecraft is dead and his works are out of copyright. No one’s enriching him by engaging with his stories.

The building is entirely optional and an absolutely amazing feature...

Starfield will feature over 250,000 lines of dialogue.”

The almost entirely optional settlement building crap?

I want to be excited for this, I really do, but I still primarily think of it as “that thing in the way of Elder Scrolls 6.”

I can’t wait to play it 4 years after launch, when the modding community will have fixed everything wrong with it.
